Hours - Monday - Friday 40 hours per week inclusive of a 1 hour unpaid break

Purpose of Job

Utilising key purchasing and negotiation techniques, help manage a portfolio of commodity categories, driving profitable growth for the organisation. Including negotiation, and data analysis/reporting.

Job Description

  • To support the implementation and delivery of a product strategy for a portfolio of products across specific commodity areas.
  • Negotiate cost and terms with portfolio of suppliers.
  • Ensure a robost and resilient supply chain of technically-compliant materials.
  • Proactively develop and maintain appropriate relationships with all internal stakeholders.
  • Collect and maintain data and information to support strategic supplier management and maximise opportunities across the commodity categories.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve supplier performance.
  • Analyse commodity performance and produce associated reports on a regular basis.
  • Communicate effectively with the Regional Sales teams on new product information and commodity market movements.
  • To assist with customer quotation requests.
  • To collate and manage contract balances and prices with the Trading Co-ordinator
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure operational efficiency (Marketing, Technical and Finance).
  • You may also be required to undertake other duties which are deemed to be within the business needs.

Job Requirements

Essentials

  • Sound Excel skills
  • Excellent written & verbal commuication
  • Analytical thinking
  • Ability to work at a fast pace
  • At least 18 months of experience in a relevant field
  • Strong numeracy skills

Desirable

  • Experience in a procurement role
  • Experience in the bakery industry
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Valid UK driving Licence
